Top 10 People To Pay Attention To On Twitter

A guide to navigating the Twitterverse

Tuesday, 10 March 2015

We see you there, with your egg avatar. We see you overusing the hashtags and navigating your way around @ symbols and "trends". Welcome to the Twitterverse.

As passionate ad folks, content creators and all-round social fiends, we wanted to use our industry prowess to put together a list of 10 people and brands that would give you a well-rounded twitterverse around the pillars of advertising, design, copywriting, inspiration and of course general humour (we all need a laugh and a few puns here and there).

1. Ad Age

Let's start with the basics, Ad Age is our fave source of international advertising news. The good, bad, ugly and the phenomenal. Nuff said.

2. The Real InDesign

Are you an art director, designer, finished artist, or just savvy with the Adobe Suite? Well, imagine if your InDesign software could talk back to you. The Real InDesign is one you have to follow. The tweet below had us in stitches. They certainly deserve more followers than this.

3. The Loop

A regular and reliable source of creative inspiration and content, The Loop Oz primarily shares design, typography and illustrative work. Plus jobs, in case you're looking.

4. Buzzfeed Australia

In any profession, you need relief from the mundane, which leads us to our next one. Buzzfeed Australia provides amusement with an Aussie twist that just takes the hump day out of any day.

5. Mashable Australia

Aussie skewed news relating to connections, technology, social and content. A barebones necessity.

6. AdWeak

Brilliant source of up-to-the-minute breaking (fake) advertising and marketing headlines to keep you entertained all day and through the night whilst you work on those pitches.

7. Campaign Brief

Ok, so we really do need an Australian twitter feed for advertising news, leaks and sordid rumours. Take your pick from Campaign Brief, AdNews, Mumbrella or B&T.

8. Cannes Lions

Keep in touch by following the industry's most renowned awards.

9. SiteInspire

A web and digital design showcase all in one little feed.

10. This Advertising Life

Infamous for their Tumblr page, This Advertising Life is a classic one to wrap up the top 10. Mostly visual interpretations of hilarious scenarios that can only come from real experience in the ad industry.
